Parent Quiz

Is your teen using? This is a question many parents have asked, once they have teenagers in their home.  Is there an easy answer? Not really.  However, there are specific signs and symptoms that can be watched for that will give you an indication that something is going on.  We have listed some of the symptoms commonly seen in the parent section of this website.

 

However, we have also developed this interactive quiz that parents may find useful.  The test is 20 questions, giving you a score to consider at the end.

 

Prior to taking this quiz, please keep in mind this is only an indicator, and does not imply conclusively whether or not your teen is using drugs! This can provide you with a information, and help you decide whether or not you need to find out more.  To explore whether or not use is occurring requires talking with your teen, urinalysis testing, and/or a chemical dependency evaluation provided by a Certified Alcohol and Drug Abuse Professional.

 

When answering the following questions, consider the last 6 months.  Has this behavior always existed, or has it appeared recently? Is this normal teen behavior, or does it fall into the “abnormal” range.  For instance, low grades, if they have previously been very high, indicates that some negative change has occurred.  If there are no clear reasons for the drop in grades, substance abuse may be suspected, along with other causes.
